The Business Intelligence Intern will support Massport’s IT Data Team by assisting with data preparation, dashboard development, database maintenance, and documentation of analytical workflows. This role offers hands‑on experience with enterprise data systems, business intelligence tools, and analytics processes that support operational decision‑making across the organization.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program at a college or university.
  • Experience with data analytics tools.
  • Ability to work with unstructured data sets.
  • This position is based at our Logan Office Center.
  • Ability to work a 37.5-hour work week.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at time of application.
  • Ability to pass Massport’s pre-employment-controlled substance test and background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing interactive Business Intelligence dashboards and visualizations that support operational reporting and data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Help gather requirements from team members and translate them into clear and effective dashboard components.
  • Support data cleaning, validation, and transformation activities to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems.
  • Assist with moving data between systems and preparing datasets for reporting and analytics.
  • Help maintain and update databases by performing routine data checks, reviewing data structures, and supporting troubleshooting activities.
  • Assist with monitoring data quality issues and escalating concerns to the IT Data Team.
  • Document data workflows, processes, and technical procedures to support team knowledge and continuity.
  • Work closely with IT team members and business users to support ongoing projects and ensure data solutions meet operational needs.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and project discussions to gain exposure to enterprise analytics functions.
