General Summary The Business Intelligence Intern supports the Business Intelligence team in developing, maintaining, and improving data reporting and analytics solutions that align with business goals across the organization. This role is designed for current college students or recent graduates interested in data, analytics, and business insights within a large construction and infrastructure environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field preferred, but not required
  • Coursework or projects involving data analysis, reporting, or databases
  • Exposure to tools such as: Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools
  • SQL or relational databases
  • Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
  • Academic projects, internships, or group work involving data interpretation or reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to learn new software tools and technical concepts quickly
  • Basic understanding of data, databases, or analytics concepts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks or deadlines
  • Collaborative team player with a willingness to ask questions and learn
  • Interest in business intelligence, data analytics, or technology-driven decision making

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Business Intelligence team with data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development to support business operations and leadership decision-making.
  • Support the design, documentation, testing, and maintenance of BI reports and datasets.
  • Work with internal partners (IT, Finance, Operations, HR, and other departments) to help gather requirements and understand reporting needs.
  • Help validate data accuracy, troubleshoot data issues, and identify opportunities for data quality improvements.
  • Assist in creating and organizing documentation, training materials, and user guides for BI reports and dashboards.
  • Learn and apply BI tools and reporting standards to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Support special projects, ad-hoc reporting requests, and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
