About The Position
AgWest Farm Credit is a member-owned financial cooperative that provides financing and related services to farmers, ranchers, agribusinesses, commercial fishermen, timber producers, rural homeowners and crop insurance customers in a seven-state territory in the Western United States. We serve customers in 59 locations throughout the West. We are in search of a Business Intelligence Intern to join our Data Management department in Rocklin, California. This temporary position reports to the Director, Business Intelligence and will learn from and assist the Data Management team. This internship is designed to provide a realistic job preview and insights to the career opportunities and potential that exists at AgWest, primarily in the areas of data management and business intelligence. This internship position is full-time and anticipated to last for 12 weeks.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in information technology, data analytics/data science, or related field
- Senior standing or recent graduate
Nice To Haves
- Basic proficiency with at least one reporting or data analysis tool such as Power BI, Tableau, R, SQL, or Business Objects
- Basic understanding of how to identify opportunities for process improvement and ask questions to clarify business needs
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and ability to structure and solve problems
- Ability to plan, prioritize, organize and control assigned activities with competing timelines
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of reports and data visualizations.
- Assist with analysis and creating presentations that outline findings and recommend changes.
- Assist with clearly articulating and documenting business requirements including communications, training needs, procedures, and effective communications to ensure adoption of new processes across the organization.
- Assist with reviewing and testing solutions in both a primary and secondary role to ensure accurate results prior to release for production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain hands-on experience in business intelligence and data analytics best practices.
- Coordinate with team members and employees across the organization to complete projects.
