About The Position

The Data Engineer joins a tech team that includes a BI Developer, DevOps Engineer, Full Stack Engineer, and Tech Lead. This role is for a highly autonomous individual. They will own projects end-to-end and are trusted to deliver without close oversight. The position encompasses the full data lifecycle: data ingestion through Airbyte, pipeline orchestration in Airflow, model building in dbt Cloud, optimization of the Redshift warehouse, and insight delivery via Power BI. The successful candidate takes pride in their craft and holds themselves to a high standard.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in BI, analytics engineering, or data engineering
  • Strong SQL skills with experience writing complex queries and optimizing performance
  • Hands-on experience with dbt (dbt Cloud preferred)
  • Experience with a cloud data warehouse (Redshift preferred)
  • Experience building dashboards in Power BI or similar tools
  • Familiarity with pipeline orchestration tools (Airflow preferred)
  • Understanding of dimensional modelling and data warehouse design patterns
  • Experience with Airbyte or similar data ingestion tools
  • Comfort with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with e-commerce or marketplace data

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain data pipelines using Airbyte and Airflow
  • Ensure data quality through validation, transformation, and monitoring
  • Proactively identify and resolve data integrity issues before they impact downstream users
  • Develop and maintain dbt models, macros, and tests in dbt Cloud
  • Design efficient, well-documented Redshift views and tables for analyst consumption
  • Establish and enforce data modelling best practices across the warehouse
  • Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
  • Partner with analysts and stakeholders to translate business questions into actionable insights
  • Optimize report performance and ensure data accuracy
  • Take full ownership of projects from requirements through delivery
  • Work closely with analysts who pull data via Power Query/Excel
  • Mentor and support the broader team on data best practices
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term data strategy
