About The Position

The Business Intelligence Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data models, pipelines, and reporting solutions that enable data-driven decision making across the organization. The scope of work includes transforming raw data into structured, reliable datasets, developing KPI dashboards, and supporting business stakeholders with actionable insights. As a member of the Data and Analytics team, this role will work closely with the Director of Data and Analytics and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality data products. This role requires strong problem-solving ability, curiosity, and a willingness to adopt modern data and AI-driven approaches to improve productivity and outcomes.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics engineering, or similar role (or equivalent project-based experience)
  • Strong proficiency in SQL (required)
  • Experience with at least one of the following: Snowflake, dbt, Power BI, Postgres, or SQL Server
  • Working knowledge of DAX
  • Experience building dashboards and reporting solutions
  • Understanding of core data modeling principles (facts, dimensions, data warehousing concepts)
  • Experience working with data pipelines or ELT processes
  • Must be able to commute to Newtown Square, PA 4–5 days per week
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work through ambiguous problems
  • Ability to understand and operate within existing engineering standards and frameworks
  • Curious and motivated to learn new tools, concepts, and data philosophies
  • Effective collaborator who works well in a team environment
  • Interest in leveraging AI to improve productivity and enhance data products

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions
  • Design and implement scalable data models in a warehouse environment
  • Build and maintain data transformations using SQL and tools such as dbt
  • Develop and support dashboards and reporting solutions (Power BI)
  • Debug and resolve data issues across pipelines, models, and reporting layers
  • Contribute to data pipeline development and data quality improvements
  • Participate in peer code reviews to ensure adherence to engineering standards
  • Continuously improving existing data models and reporting logic for performance and usability
  • Explore and apply AI tools (e.g., Abacus AI) to enhance productivity and data products
  • Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the company’s data platform
