About The Position

The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst plays a critical role in driving data-informed decision-making across the organization. This role supports the development of dashboards, validates data, documents metrics, and helps stakeholders access reliable insights across operations, sales, finance, marketing, and customer experience. Beyond building reports, the BI Analyst serves as a BI Advocate, championing user onboarding, promoting adoption of enterprise BI tools and the data catalog, and helping cultivate a strong data literacy culture across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field OR equivalent early-career experience
  • 1–3 years of experience in BI reporting, analytics, or related technical role (internships and academic projects accepted)
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Looker, or Tableau
  • Foundational SQL knowledge or strong willingness to learn
  • Understanding of data visualization principles and dashboard best practices
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to explain data concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a collaborative environment
  • Interest in promoting BI adoption and enabling a data-driven culture

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to residential real estate, construction, sales, finance, or marketing analytics
  • Familiarity with CRM, ERP, or operational systems
  • Exposure to relational databases or dimensional modeling basics
  • Experience with Agile tools such as Jira or Trello
  • Coursework or experience involving segmentation, forecasting, or statistical analysis
  • Interest in AI-enhanced analytics or conversational BI tools

Responsibilities

  • Assist in gathering business requirements and translating them into clear KPI definitions and reporting needs
  • Build and maintain foundational dashboards and reports (e.g., Power BI, Looker, Looker Studio)
  • Conduct descriptive analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and patterns in organizational data
  • Support the monitoring of key performance indicators across business functions
  • Optimize dashboards for clarity, usability, and performance
  • Help ensure consistent business logic and standardized metric definitions across reports
  • Validate dashboard outputs against source systems and document discrepancies
  • Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) by reconciling numbers, following test scripts, and logging issues
  • Maintain documentation for KPIs, business definitions, and data sources
  • Collaborate with BI Developers and Data Engineers to resolve data quality issues
  • Support adherence to governance standards and naming conventions
  • Serve as a BI Advocate by supporting user onboarding and promoting adoption of enterprise BI tools and the data catalog
  • Guide business users in understanding available datasets, metric definitions, and dashboard functionality
  • Develop user-friendly documentation, quick-start guides, and simple training materials
  • Assist in hosting walkthroughs or enablement sessions for new dashboards and features
  • Collect user feedback to improve usability and effectiveness of BI solutions
  • Encourage responsible self-service analytics through education and best practices
  • Support tracking of dashboard usage and adoption metrics to improve engagement
  • Translate analytical findings into simple, actionable takeaways for non-technical stakeholders
  • Prepare summaries, charts, and visual materials for business presentations
  • Help standardize definitions and documentation to ensure consistent interpretation of metrics
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure insights align with decision-making needs
  • Develop foundational skills in SQL, BI tools, and data modeling concepts
  • Learn best practices in dashboard design, data storytelling, and analytics governance
  • Stay informed on emerging BI and AI-enhanced analytics capabilities
  • Actively seek mentorship and participate in team knowledge-sharing
  • Represent the company professionally in all internal and external interactions and communications
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by manager
