About The Position

VitalSource®, is hiring a Business Intelligence Analyst to contribute to our Product team located in Raleigh NC, Chicago IL, Franklin TN, or Boston MA (preferred locations). Applicants outside of these preferred locations will still be considered. We’re looking for a curious and driven Business Intelligence Analyst who’s passionate about education and technology to join our team. In this role, you’ll turn data into meaningful insights that shape strategic decisions and enhance our educational products and services. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to uncover opportunities, simplify complex data, and drive impactful outcomes—playing a key role in advancing our EdTech initiatives and delivering better learning experiences.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Business Intelligence or Data Analyst role, preferably in the education or EdTech sector.
  • Proficiency in BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI) and data analysis software (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
  • Familiarity with the education sector's challenges and opportunities, including knowledge of educational systems, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement BI solutions tailored to the education sector, focusing on student performance, educational content engagement, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize data analytics needs, translating business questions into analytical projects.
  • Design and maintain dashboards and reports that provide insights into key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends in the education industry.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of educational data, including student performance, curriculum effectiveness, and market trends, to identify opportunities for product and service enhancement.
  • Work closely with the product development team to integrate analytics findings into EdTech solutions, ensuring data-driven decision-making in product design and feature improvements.
  • Leverage intermediate to advanced Looker capabilities (LookML, Explores, dashboards) to deliver actionable insights and measurable business value.
