Regular in-office presence is required for day-to-day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building. This role reports to the Immigration Practice Group Manager. Position Summary The Business Immigration Specialist will partner with immigration attorneys/paralegals to assist with all administrative aspects of immigration cases. Candidate must be fluent in English.

  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in an administrative or support role within a law firm or similar organization.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, as well as basic proficiency in data entry and managing electronic files.

Nice To Haves

  • University/College degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Familiar with immigration law/processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates immigration cases and ensure all documents are provided within assigned deadlines.
  • Drafts various elements of Non-Immigrant Visa (NIV) (H-1B, L, E-1/2, TN, O-1, J) and Immigrant Visa (IV) (PERM, I-140, CP, AOS, Naturalization, etc.) cases, including cover/support letters, immigration forms, and supporting documents.
  • Processes I-485 (AOS- Adjustment of Status); submits applications for (I-765) employment authorization document; travel document, replacement I-94 and I-90.
  • Prepares immigration filings/client correspondence including Premium Processing upgrades and I-131 (AP – Advance Parole/Travel Document).
  • Reviews drafted work for accuracy.
  • Identifies issues during case production and escalates as needed.
  • Follows up with attorneys, paralegals, and/or clients and foreign nationals regarding case filings, as well as completed questionnaires and missing documents.
  • Conducts necessary data entry, including updating information and uploading documents received from clients and entering client details in case and document management systems, including INSZoom.
  • Maintains client files, including editing letters and forms.
  • Processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, including preparing mailings.
  • Requests checks and process invoices.
  • Calls USCIS and DOS as requested for case status, case questions etc.
  • Assists with overflow work and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Works overtime as needed and if applicable.
