About The Position

Do you enjoy leading and mentoring others in a way that builds trust, collaboration, and growth? Business Oregon is looking for a Business Finance Manager (Grants, Loans, and Programs Manager 3). In this role, you will guide a 12-member Business Finance Team committed to supporting Oregon's diverse businesses. You will oversee a statewide commercial loan portfolio, make sound credit and lending decisions, ensure programs are accessible and responsive to business needs, and cultivate strong relationships with state and national finance partners. This position plays a key role in coordinating resources, balancing programs, and championing the success of Oregon's small businesses. Note: We are committed to fostering a supportive work environment that promotes work-life balance and flexibility. This hybrid role offers remote work options, with the expectation of occasional in-office presence as needed to support business operations.

Requirements

  • Seven years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience.
  • OR
  • Four years of related experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Business Finance Team, including staff supervision, coaching, and performance management.
  • Oversee and manage the statewide commercial loan and indirect loan portfolio, ensuring balanced risk, sustainability, and program effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement program policies, procedures, and long-range plans that align with agency and legislative goals to ensure that Oregon businesses have access to capital.
  • Lead credit decision-making and portfolio oversight, ensuring responsible stewardship of state and federal financial resources.
  • Coordinate and maintain strong partnerships with financial institutions, state and federal agencies, industry groups, and community stakeholders.
  • Manage annual and biennial budget planning, resource allocation, and financial reporting for Business Finance programs.
  • Develop and advance new financing tools, products, and program improvements to address capital gaps and evolving small business needs.
  • Represent the agency in public, industry, and stakeholder forums, promoting Business Oregon's mission and programs statewide.
