About The Position

The Card Data, Models, Decisioning, & Credit (DMDC) organization is hiring a Strategy Lead reporting to the DMDC Chief of Staff. The Strategy Lead is responsible for owning multiple, simultaneous strategy projects, spanning business, operations, and talent. This leader would also support DMDC leaders in defining their individual team strategies and lead engagements with Corporate Strategy pods. The Strategy Lead would have the opportunity to scope and build a small team based on the organizational needs they identify. The Role: Lead strategic initiatives focused on leveraging advanced data and artificial Intelligence capabilities to drive significant improvements in credit decisioning and customer acquisition. Develop a strong understanding of the financial services and fintech industry and ensure that DMDC’s strategy remains at the forefront. Develop and implement new operating models for the business as generative AI changes how we work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 4 years of experience in quantitative analysis
  • At least 4 years of experience in qualitative analysis
  • At least 2 years of experience in people management
  • At least 2 years of experience in project management

Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership: Develop business strategies that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory demands
  • Analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the business is based on rigorous analytic marketing; credit risk management
  • People leadership experience: Talent magnet with the ability to build and leverage the capabilities of a high-performing team, as well as business partners across the enterprise.
  • Partnership: Develop strong relationships and work closely with colleagues across Capital One including: Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Software Engineers, and Product Managers
  • Executive communication: Strong written and oral communication, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through evidence-based persuasion, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Results orientation: able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment.
