About The Position

BBB is seeking a professional to join our team as a Business Development Specialist in our NYC Office. This role works directly with the Director of Business Development to implement the firmwide BD plan and strategies across all offices and sectors. The role is ideal for a highly organized, proactive, and data-savvy professional with strong research and analytical skills. The position reports to the Director of Business Development and works with firm Principals and Partners. This role requires in-office presence Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays. In addition, BBB offers employees a flexible pool of 24 remote workdays per year, providing added flexibility to balance personal needs while maintaining strong collaboration and supporting project goals. In addition to working locally with a broad and diverse group of professionals at all stages of career development, new hires will collaborate virtually with BBB design professionals in the Boston, Miami, and Washington, DC offices. All BBB employees, including new hires, can participate in staff initiatives that advance professional skills, connect staff outside the realm of project work, and promote values of environmental and social well-being.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in business development, preferably within an A/E/C firm or professional services environment.
  • Highly organized, data- and systems-oriented, and detail-focused with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite; familiarity with CRM tools (Deltek Vantagepoint a plus)
  • Flexible with a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent collaborative skills and spirit.
  • Sound judgment, ability to identify and solve problems, connect dots, and communicate proactively with the Director of Business Development.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor lead services for opportunities, summarize Go/No Go opportunities, follow up, and track Go/No Go decisions
  • Conduct and analyze research for BBB’s core and potential market sectors, prospects, industry trends, and strategic BD initiatives.
  • Schedule and prepare for meetings and work sessions of BD initiative groups, including firmwide leaders.
  • Follow up with the Director of BD and firm leaders on assigned outreach activities.
  • Update and maintain contacts and outreach activities in shared trackers and databases, including Deltek VantagePoint.
  • Produce periodic reports on BD and marketing statistics and benchmarks, working in liaison with firm’s technology (DCT) group.
  • Support requests for BD decks and brochures
  • Support the planning and execution of networking events, conferences, client meetings, and firm-hosted programs.
  • Make forward-thinking contributions to BD meetings, including identifying opportunities to enhance strategies, processes, and systems.
