Requirements

  • Strong portfolio of contacts in commercial construction in the designated focus markets and surrounding areas an advantage.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite products (Word, Excel, Power Point) and order management software, including CRM.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • New market penetration
  • Sales and marketing strategy development experience.
  • High energy and great communication skills with the ability to consultatively demonstrate our products highlighting their benefits/advantages/features to our customers.
  • Ability to work with all levels from corporate to field employees.
  • Ability to work independently and strong organizational skills to manage time, territory, and resources effectively.

  • 3+ years of sales experience within the commercial construction industry, including experience in dealing with general contractors and developers.
  • Prior experience preparing and delivering sales presentations.
  • Prior experience setting and meeting sales goals.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or similar field preferred.
  • A combination of professional experience and education may be considered.
  • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
  • This position operates in a home office environment and must have a dedicated workspace.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • ~40% travel requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with general contractors and sub-contractors to become prequalified.
  • Engage with pre-construction and other project teams throughout the bid process, providing the company’s sales and estimating team with direct support to negotiate and win the sale.
  • Actively engage in pre-bidding stages to increase specification and bid invitation frequency and use Dodge, SpecSuccess, and other tools to submit substitution requests when need to get into the specifications.
  • Work with the company’s sales and estimating team to compile a list of bidders for each project so that there is full coverage for bid day.
  • Lead management of opportunities from demand generation and identification through to bid requests being received.
  • Stay connected/available with opportunity after passed to estimator(s) and contracts to help ensure continuity and excellent service across the entire customer experience.
  • Participate in internal and external training for sales and product-related skills, and utilize tools provided to become better educated about products and applications offered by Greco Architectural Metal Products a nd competitive offerings.
  • Develop and maintain performance-oriented sales initiatives, updating CRM and other pipeline management tools.
  • Use lead identification tools such as Dodge Construction to identify and pursue projects and project owners, and position Greco products as a preferred solution.
  • Work independently through in-person, virtual, and digital self-marketing efforts, trade shows, industry organization meetings, or any other form of networking event or opportunity to promote the company’s products.
  • Daily duties to include but are not limited to quoting, follow up on backlog, follow up on outstanding quotes and projects, and ensure the best possible close rates.
  • Deliver presentations to architects, designers, general contractors, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ's), including AIA-approved continuing education courses, as well as company specific CES and PK presentations in person and virtually to ensure Company’s specification frequency and growth initiatives.
  • Consistent engagement with architects, and specification writers to increase basis of design (BOD) rate and get into their office master spec and develop and nurture a consultative relationship with project architects to ensure protection of BOD preference.
  • Any other assignments, duties or responsibilities as directed by the Supervisor and Executive Management.
