Ando is looking for a Business Development Specialist to help grow our Personal Lines business and make insurance simple, smart, and customer focused. At Ando, we’re all about collaboration, innovation, and supporting each other to succeed. You’ll work alongside our Business Development Managers, liaising with brokers across New Zealand, providing quotes, assessing applications, and contributing to strategic growth initiatives. Your expertise will help shape the way we do business while delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Requirements

  • Around 4 years’ experience in Personal Lines underwriting, with a strong grasp of principles and the ability to communicate them clearly.
  • Strong broker relationships and commercial acumen.
  • Proven customer service excellence and a solution-focused mindset.
  • A team player with integrity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant industry qualifications (ANZIIF Cert/Dip highly regarded).

Responsibilities

  • Underwriting new business, renewals, and midterm adjustments in a timely, professional way, including our new Elite product.
  • Collaborating with brokers to understand client needs and create tailored insurance solutions.
  • Sharing your knowledge and acting as a go-to subject matter expert for your team.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and drive smarter business outcomes.
  • Supporting the PL BDM team to meet SLA targets and ensuring compliance with regulatory and Ando standards.
  • Keeping up with market trends and contributing to business development strategies.
