The Business Development Specialist is responsible for engaging new inbound leads, educating them on the firm's tax, accounting, and fractional CFO services, and conducting the initial Consultations to determine fit. This role nurtures early-stage prospects, identifies pain points, and guides qualified businesses to the Document Request stage for quotes on tax or accounting services. The ideal candidate excels at opening conversations with business owners generating $5M+ who seek financial clarity, cash flow oversight, forecasting, and higher-level advisory beyond basic CPA work. You are adept at identifying "financial blind spots" and can articulate the value of sophisticated advisory services (Tax Strategy, Fractional CFO, and KPI Monitoring) to CEOs and Founders. Key Responsibilities Lead Engagement & Initial Consultation Serve as the primary point of contact for inbound leads, outbound efforts, and face-to-face meetings. Conduct structured consultations to identify urgent needs such as tax inefficiencies, cash flow issues, or lack of financial visibility. Educate prospects on the value of fractional CFO services beyond basic CPA functions. Pipeline Management & Qualification Qualify prospects based on revenue size ($5M+), industry, and operational maturity. Facilitate the transition of qualified prospects to the Document Request stage for tax and accounting quotes. Execute nurture steps in alignment with the company’s Follow-Up System (strategic calls and email sequences). Collaboration & Documentation Maintain meticulous CRM documentation, capturing pain points, goals, and context. Partner closely with Sales Specialists and Advanced Sales Specialists (AdSS) to maintain a seamless transition for the prospect. Participate in collaborative troubleshooting to improve qualification accuracy and funnel efficiency. Skills & Experience
