We are seeking a motivated and experienced Showroom & Business Development Manager to lead and grow the operations of our flagship showroom in Chicago’s vibrant Fulton Market district. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven leader with an eye for design, a talent for building relationships, and a proven ability to drive sales growth. This hybrid role balances showroom leadership with strategic business development. The ideal candidate is operationally strong, highly-personable, and ready to represent the brand at the highest level — both inside the showroom and out in the local business community.

Requirements

  • At least three years of showroom, retail, or customer-facing sales leadership, ideally in furniture, design, or a related industry.
  • Proven track record in business development or B2B sales with measurable results.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-first approach.
  • Passion for ergonomics, health, and workplace wellness.
  • Experience with customer service, merchandising, and analyzing sales data.
  • Proficiency with CRM/ERP systems and Google Workspace tools.
  • A strong local network in the Chicago design or business community is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Design, or related field is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot CRM
  • Familiarity with NetSuite ERP
  • Experience creating lead generation campaigns using tools like Apollo or Hunter.io
  • Prior work in an e-commerce or hybrid retail environment

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily showroom operations, ensuring an exceptional visitor experience.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the showroom team, including scheduling and onboarding.
  • Maintain high merchandising standards and ensure product readiness.
  • Provide expert ergonomic product consultations.
  • Resolve customer issues and ensure a positive in-showroom experience.
  • Monitor and improve sales performance metrics.
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow corporate and designer client accounts.
  • Build strong relationships with industry professionals and local business leaders.
  • Conduct client site visits to deliver tailored ergonomic solutions.
  • Proudly represent the UPLIFT brand at networking events, industry trade shows, and community gatherings.
  • Prepare professional sales presentations and proposals.
  • Partner with marketing to drive lead generation and outreach initiatives.
