About The Position

This position leverages Dead River Company benefits to grow our residential propane business through trade partners. Targets to include builders, remodelers, realtors and associated affinity partners: i.e. appliance stores and stove shops. This position closely collaborates with Marketing and Operations to achieve success and growth. As a “trusted advisor” to both existing and new customers, this position seeks to provide high quality service in support of our Brand Promise and Customer Guarantees and Pledges. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • The Business Development Representative should have a minimum of two years of previous sales experience or a combination of sales and energy related experience.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • High Initiative (Self Starter)
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, SFDC) and Math skills
  • Ability and willingness to make “cold calls”
  • Creativity

  • Ability to build relationships

Nice To Haves

  • Solution Selling experience is preferred.
  • Technical/mechanical aptitude a plus

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for growing residential propane sales to trade and affinity partners.
  • Develops a territory sales plan to include annual goals, annual activities and trade targets to support corporate market growth strategy.
  • Develops business relationships with impactful builders, remodelers, realtors, appliance stores and stove shops to add value and earn repeat liquid product business.
  • Accurately and timely prepares and presents proposals to existing and potential new customers.
  • Leverages industry information and incentives to grow business (PERC and others)
  • Collaborates with Marketing to develop “Tool Kits”, collateral, co-branding and co-op opportunities
  • Collaborates with operations to ensure required service standards are agreed upon and adhered to.
  • Responsible for customer relations and quality service before, during and after the sale.
  • Maintains harmonious relationships and good communication with other departments (service, credit, and delivery) to ensure consistent and excellent service.
  • Actively participates in trade shows, and conducts training and education seminars with customers
  • Uses SalesForce.com to manage targeted trade and affinity partners; manage tasks, events and stages of proposals as well as document sales results.
  • Assists with special projects and other work-related duties as assigned.
