About The Position

Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health invites applications for the position of Business Development Representative/ Community Liaison. The foremost responsibility of the position is to contribute to the development and implementation of referral development plan and serve as a liaison to public, educating referral sources about Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Sales, Clinical Studies, Psychology, or similar discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Experience working in a business development, sales, and/or marketing capacity, for a minimum of one to three years required.
  • Must be able to travel, both within the local and extended region, for business-related meetings and functions, as necessary.
  • Skilled in the use of computer systems and software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
  • Must have experience with social media platforms, including updating and managing social media platforms.
  • The physical requirements for this position include being able to stand, squat, kneel, and sit for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. of weight. Must be able to read, write clearly, talk, and listen. Must be 21 years old or older.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with customers and creates/updates customer database.
  • Gathers information and identifies customer needs through effective meeting planning, documenting outcomes and next steps.
  • Uncovers customer concerns that would hinder referrals, report concerns to facility and assist in problem solving to remove those obstacles.
  • Effectively manages time in the field to achieve appointment setting and face to face contact goals of 50 per week.
  • Plans, coordinates and implements special functions including workshops, seminars, symposiums, receptions, conferences and open houses to highlight facility resources and programs.
  • Forwards weekly reports and schedules to DBD according to time frame specified.
  • Effectively conveys facility program information and benefits to referral sources.
  • Stays current with facility changes and updates to convey information to referral sources.
  • Monitors competitors’ activities in geographic and product markets.
  • Reviews reports from their activities, DBD and from centralized admissions to identify trends and referral activity.
  • Understands customer’s marketplace and industry related issues and challenges.
  • Gathers market intelligence and shares that information with DBD to assist with business development strategies.
