About The Position

The Business Development & Program Manager will lead aerospace proposals and programs, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery. This role involves driving business development, managing budgets and schedules, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The manager will collaborate closely with sales and engineering teams, acting as the primary contact for key accounts. Responsibilities also include supporting digital marketing efforts and utilizing software such as SalesForce and Oracle MRP. The position requires cradle-to-grave team leadership for individual aerospace proposal and program efforts, focusing on orders intake, price increases, new business life of program value capture, and customer satisfaction. Program management goals include budget management, milestone/schedule adherence, scope creep management, and customer satisfaction. The role involves working with AMETEK Regional Sales Managers to propose/capture/execute new/existing business opportunities, prospecting via customer visitations (10-25% travel), and generating business cases and executive summaries for proposals. Once proposals are won, the manager will create a Program Management Plan (PMP) detailing assumptions, budget, program specifics, milestone schedule, technical design summary, risk management, and a scope change register. The typical program schedule includes proposal generation, PDR/CDR, development-unit fabrication/testing, and transition to production. Close cooperation with Engineering is essential for proposals and program deliverables. The manager will also act as the primary point of contact for key accounts/programs, providing customer service for commercial/programmatic aspects and delivery updates. Improving Voice of Customer Feedback, digital marketing updates (web, content, social media, email blasts), and understanding A&D market trends are also part of the role. An understanding of Government Contracts and AS606 accounting for NRE & recurring revenue recognition is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead individual Aerospace Proposal/Program efforts from cradle-to-grave, ensuring on-time and within budget delivery
  • Achieve Business Development Goals including orders intake, price increases, new business life of program value captured, customer satisfaction, digital marketing metrics, and working capital flow-downs
  • Achieve Program Management Goals including budget management (milestones/schedule, scope creep & customer management), and customer satisfaction
  • Work with AMETEK Regional Sales Managers to propose/capture/execute new/existing business opportunities
  • Prospect for New Business via Customer visitations (travel 10-25%)
  • Conduct Proposal & Contract review, Business-Case generation, and Executive Summarization
  • Generate a Program Management Plan (PMP) for won proposals, including proposal assumptions & budget, program particulars (platform, volume, sales/yr, key assumptions), milestone schedule, technical design summary, risk management, as well as a scope change register
  • Oversee a typical Proposal/Program Schedule: Proposal generation/estimation phase, followed by PDR/CDR, Development-Unit Fabrication/Testing, and transition to Production
  • Cooperate closely with Engineering for the development of proposals and program deliverables
  • Act as Point of Contact (POC) for cognizant key accounts/programs, providing Customer Service for the commercial/programmatic aspects of new programs and providing delivery updates to customers
  • Improve the Voice of Customer Feedback by providing superior customer management
  • Perform Digital Marketing web-updates, content creation, social media videos, email blasts, etc. as needed
  • Understand the A&D market, trends, new product needs for Thermal Management
  • Utilize SalesForce proposal/lead management software and Oracle MRP
  • Understand Government Contracts and AS606 accounting for NRE & recurring revenue recognition
