We are seeking a high-performing Business Development Officer with SBA lending expertise to drive new business opportunities and expand financing solutions within the franchise and small business sectors. This role is focused on originating SBA 7(a) loan opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and managing deals from origination through closing. Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of SBA lending experience with a U.S.-based bank or non-bank lender
  • Strong knowledge of SBA 7(a) loan programs, SOP guidelines, and eligibility requirements
  • Ability to analyze financial statements, credit structures, and risk factors
  • Experience managing a loan pipeline and multiple transactions concurrently
  • Strong business development, relationship management, and sales skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent to industry experience
  • Proven producer in SBA lending with a strong network of referral sources
  • Skilled in both relationship development and deal execution

Responsibilities

  • Generate SBA 7(a) loan opportunities through direct and indirect marketing channels
  • Build and maintain relationships with franchisors, franchise brokers, referral partners, and borrowers
  • Manage full loan lifecycle, including origination, structuring, underwriting coordination, and closing
  • Assess loan eligibility in accordance with SBA SOP guidelines and sound lending practices
  • Prepare and submit loan applications and prescreen packages
  • Maintain and update pipeline reports and provide status updates to leadership
  • Partner with credit and closing teams to ensure efficient deal execution
  • Oversee multiple transactions simultaneously, ensuring progress and accuracy
  • Coordinate third-party requirements such as appraisals and environmental reports
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies and applicable regulatory requirements, including SBA guidelines, Regulation B, and BSA
  • Manage relationships with third-party loan agents and ensure performance standards are met
