About The Position

The Business Development Officer is responsible for acquisition, retention and expansion of new and existing customer relationships and will primarily be working outside the office. The perfect candidate will have a passion for supporting Women Owned Small Businesses across all our locations of the bank and act as a resource and advocate for women entrepreneurs, connecting them with relevant resources and already have a large network in the Carmel community. The successful candidate will continue growing our Women’s Initiative and build excitement among women business owners in the community.

Requirements

  • Successful relationship driven business professional in client facing service, sales or marketing positions with a strong passion for supporting Women Owned Small Businesses.
  • Highly social and engaging person who enjoys organizing and meeting new people
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or five years of outside business development.
  • Proven communication, research, organizational, and public relation skills
  • Formal sales training
  • Humble and hardworking
  • Curious and Collaborative

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a financial institution is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead our Women’s Initiative for the organization: schedule luncheons and monthly meetings with guest speaker and an agenda that supports women owned businesses and growth
  • Participate in community initiatives and networking events to promote the bank's services and build connections with women entrepreneurs and support organizations.
  • Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings.
  • Cold calling businesses to secure initial appointments.
  • Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities.
  • Maintain current client relationship and identifying areas for potential clients.
  • Finding and developing new markets and improving sales.
  • Developing quotes and proposals for clients.
  • Research the latest in the business industry and creating new opportunities to expand business.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Mortgage Loan Originators, and Treasury Management Officers to ensure requirements are met such as sales numbers and profit goals.
  • Strong understanding of company products or services as well as business position and competition to keep business competitive.
  • Builds a thorough profile for each customer and maintains frequent personal, phone or email contact in an effort to grow and deepen customer relationships. At all times, provides superior customer service.
  • Provides exceptional customer service by taking ownership of the customer experience from introducing the customer to Citizens State Bank through profiling the customer, assessing their banking and borrowing needs, and recommending appropriate products based on a thorough knowledge of CSB products and services.
  • Business development will be accomplished through an aggressive sales effort resulting in quality growth of accounts
  • Local travel required. Valid driver's license, vehicle, and liability insurance are required.
