About The Position

The Business Development Officer is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with business clients, and developing strategies to drive growth, profitability and financial well-being. Collaborates with internal teams to create customized solutions for clients. Works to expand the company's market reach and increase revenue through innovative approaches and effective networking. What you will do here: Drive and execute strategies to grow new business acquisition to grow membership and expand the credit union's footprint. BDO's drive the business service sales production of all business related products, including deposits and loans (excludes large commercial loans and treasury management products). Work with HR Partners to promote Financial Well-Being to their teams. Develops and strengthens relationships with new and existing business members, promotes credit union products and services to company employees. Responsible for larger, more complex business accounts (up to $100k) and maintaining a broader knowledge of these relationships. Performs market research to identify new opportunities and establish strategies for pursuing those new opportunities. Drives the outside sales strategic initiative for a retail branch region. Includes supporting branch efforts and encourage a greater awareness of business account sales techniques and business member needs. Analyze member financial information such as income, assets, investments, and debts to determine suitable products that meet their needs and circumstances. Marketing, servicing or promoting the organization’s financial products to advise members on the advantages and disadvantages of different financial products. Serve as the in-house expert on business services and solutions with extensive product knowledge. Provide procedural support for assigned branches and/or eBranch. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years of financial services sales and customer service experience required.
  • 5+ years Direct sales experience, including cold calling, presentation skills, and proven performance in closing deals required.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills required.
  • Demonstrated consultative-based approach to establishing needs and prospecting new business required.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Strong analytical skills required.
  • Advanced planning and execution skills required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Ability to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. required .
  • Ability to travel and successfully work remotely required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or related field preferred.
