About The Position

Leads a team that focuses on passenger and cargo air service development, properties management, commercial development, lease/contract negotiations, economic development, media relations, marketing and customer service initiatives at Boise Airport (BOI). Supervises the development of the expansion of passenger and air cargo services. Creates and implements short and long-term strategies to maximize aviation and non-aviation revenues and increase customer satisfaction. Supervises the planning and marketing programs that strengthen, promotes and enhances the airport’s brand, air passenger and airport amenities. Serves as a liaison with airlines, tenants, public agencies and other regional contacts. This position works under general direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, or related field and eight years of advanced and accomplished professional experience in business development with an emphasis on expansion or enhancement of services to accommodate growth, increase revenue and maximize utilization of airport owned facilities and property, or an equivalent combination of education and or/experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of: principles and practices of management/supervision; interpersonal relations and workforce development; business development; property development; contract management; aviation industry rules, regulations and procedures; air service development best practices
  • Ability to: interact effectively with both internal and external stakeholders; use considerable initiative and judgement on a daily basis; identify, analyze and resolve complex issues; analyze and communicate at a superior level verbally and in writing; demonstrate skill in problem-solving and gaining cooperation; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; and perform all essential functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Manages the work of professional, technical and/or other staff; determines organizational structure, staffing needs, and work strategies; ensures adequate resources are available for staff to perform work duties; and ensures that assigned operations and activities comply with organization goals and objectives.
  • Develops a strategic plan to generate, maximize and oversee aviation and non-aviation related revenue. Utilizes technology and data analytics to maximize revenue and profitability while reducing the burden on airlines. Identifies ways to decrease expenses and increase revenue, identifies revenue opportunities through private and public partnerships and reviews and/or negotiates airport rates and charges. Develops strategies for utilizing acres of airport property and other real property to increase airport revenue.
  • Identifies and develops airport real estate management, administration of commercial properties and administration of leases and agreements.
  • Establishes and develops relationships with airline executives to encourage the expansion of current air service. Prepares and conducts accurate, effective and professional air service presentations and consults with air service experts to identify gaps in air service and capitalize on available opportunities to expand routes. Provides strategic direction on expansion of air cargo serve and communication regarding schedule, fleet and route changes.
