About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to drive new business growth across Southern California. This role focuses on building relationships with HOAs, property managers, apartment associations, and multifamily building owners who must comply with California balcony inspection laws. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for prospecting, educating prospective clients, and generating new inspection projects through in-person meetings, presentations, and industry networking. This is a field-focused role requiring regular travel throughout Orange County, Los Angeles, Riverside/Corona, and San Diego to conduct meetings, host lunch-and-learn presentations, and develop partnerships with industry stakeholders. The ideal candidate is outgoing, knowledgeable about the multifamily or construction/property management industry, and highly skilled at relationship-driven sales.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of business development, sales, or account management experience
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to explain technical or regulatory information clearly
  • Self-starter with strong prospecting and networking skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly within Southern California
  • Based locally in Orange County, CA

  • Experience working with: HOAs Property management companies Multifamily real estate Construction, engineering, or inspection services
  • Knowledge of California balcony inspection laws (SB 721 / SB 326)
  • Existing network in the property management or HOA industry

Responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities with: Homeowners Associations (HOAs) Property management companies Apartment owners Multifamily building owners Real estate and community associations
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads.
  • Schedule and conduct in-person meetings, presentations, and lunch-and-learn events to educate prospective clients.
  • Explain California inspection requirements under SB 721 and SB 326 and how Dr. Balcony services help ensure compliance.
  • Deliver engaging presentations on: Balcony inspection laws Compliance timelines Risk mitigation and safety Dr. Balcony’s inspection process and reporting
  • Represent the company as a trusted resource for compliance education.
  • Build long-term relationships with: HOA board members Property managers Asset managers Multifamily investors Industry associations
  • Attend industry events, networking functions, and trade shows.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects and clients.
  • Manage sales activities across Orange County, Los Angeles, Riverside/Corona, and San Diego.
  • Coordinate travel for client meetings and presentations.
  • Track outreach, meetings, and pipeline activity using CRM tools.
