The Business Development Manager, Americas supports new business growth across the US, Canada, and Latin America by assisting in prospecting, qualifying opportunities, and supporting the sales pipeline. This role is ideal for someone early in their commercial career who is eager to develop consultative sales skills within a global, matrixed organization. You will work closely with Business Development Managers and Sales Leadership to help identify opportunities, engage prospective customers, and ensure accurate pipeline management. This is an individual contributor role focused on execution, learning, and growth. This role is remote in the US and reports to a Business Development Manager or Sales Leader.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in a sales, business development, customer-facing, or commercial support role (B2B SaaS or travel industry exposure is a plus).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of English proficiency.
  • Comfortable with outreach activities such as emails, calls, and virtual meetings.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce, Oracle, or similar systems (hands-on or academic exposure acceptable).
  • Motivated, coachable, and eager to develop a career in sales or business development.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to learn how to qualify opportunities and understand customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support outbound and inbound business development activities, including prospecting, lead qualification, and initial outreach across assigned territories.
  • Assist in managing early stages of the sales cycle, including discovery calls, needs assessment, and meeting coordination.
  • Research target accounts, travel agencies, and decision-makers to support personalized and relevant outreach.
  • Maintain accurate and timely updates in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), including account notes, activity tracking, and opportunity stages.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to align messaging, campaigns, and outreach strategies.
  • Support pipeline tracking and reporting by ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Participate in ongoing training to build knowledge of Travelport’s products, competitive landscape, and travel industry trends.
  • Assist senior team members with follow-ups, proposals, and post-meeting actions as needed.
