About The Position

Primary function of a Business Development Manager: Perform business development activities in the water/wastewater construction industry for Crowder Construction Company. An engineering or construction background with experience utilizing collaborative delivery is required to develop and manage project opportunities and develop and maintain relationships with key clients. Primary Responsibilities: Promote the company's services while addressing or predicting clients' needs and objectives. Since 1947, Crowder has built a legacy of success in the construction industry. We work throughout the Southeast on heavy construction infrastructure projects ranging from bridges, dams, water and wastewater treatment facilities, power plants and other energy facilities. Requirements

  • Four-year engineering or other technical degrees with emphasis on marketing/sales or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred.
  • Five years of construction or engineering related experience preferred, with specific experience utilizing collaborative delivery in the water/wastewater market.
  • Must be sales and goal-oriented (ability to persuade and negotiate) with a proven track record of successful project development and closure.
  • Must possess excellent communication (verbal and written) skills to collaborate on highly professional proposals/presentations and work in a team environment.
  • Must possess excellent listening skills to anticipate our clients' needs, to understand their needs and to propose delivery methods.
  • You must possess a valid, non-restrictive driver's license.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Four to five years in a similar position is a plus.
  • Ability to search out and foster relationships within the WWTP/WTP industry; bringing previously held relationships in this area is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the company's services while addressing or predicting clients' needs and objectives.
  • Research potential project opportunities to better position the company to influence project delivery methods and cultivate teaming relationships.
  • Organize, coordinate, and attend industry conferences
  • Educate industry through meetings, lunch and learns and presentations on collaborative delivery, the market and Crowder.
  • Increase company visibility by actively participating in local professional organizations
  • Participate in the development of proposals, presentations, advertising, and promotional programs.
  • Participate in Division business planning processes.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and management of Crowder's other divisions to cultivate opportunities across Crowder's overall business segments and markets.
  • Initiate use of client resource management software
