About The Position

Position Overview Position: Valve Business Development Manager Location: Remote (within assigned territory) Rust Automation & Controls is seeking a dynamic Valve Business Development Manager to drive growth and strengthen customer relationships in our valve technologies sector. In this pivotal role, you will identify customer needs, craft tailored solutions, and champion engineered valve products across industries including Oil & Gas, Power, Food & Beverage, Chemical, and more. This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside within the assigned territory. Requirements

  • Proven experience in technical sales or applications engineering within the valve or process automation industry
  • Working knowledge of control valve applications, sizing, and specifications
  • Ability to read P&IDs, technical drawings, and understand industrial process environments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, quoting platforms, and vendor configurators

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering preferred (or equivalent experience)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical sales expert for control valves, actuators, and valve automation systems
  • Drive new business development and expand customer accounts through consultative selling
  • Collaborate with customers to specify engineered valve solutions for severe service applications
  • Conduct site visits and application reviews to gather process data and build long-term customer trust
  • Prepare accurate quotations and collaborate with Inside Sales, Engineering, and Vendor teams
  • Represent Rust Automation & Controls and manufacturing partners at industry events, training sessions, and customer audits
