About The Position

Lighthouse Lab Services is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager – Instrument Services to expand our market footprint and build long-term partnerships across the research, pharma, and laboratory testing space. This is a strategic, high-impact sales role where you’ll combine your technical knowledge, industry network, and consultative selling skills to shape meaningful customer solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field (advanced degree a plus).
  • 7+ years of proven success selling instrument service plans to CROs, pharma, or large reference labs.
  • Experience in clinical laboratory or toxicology markets is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with key laboratory instruments, especially: Immunoassay: Beckman Coulter Olympus AU, ThermoFisher Indiko Plus, Abbott ImmTox 270 LC-MS: Shimadzu Prominence/Nexera (LC), Agilent 6400 series, Sciex Triple Quadrupoles & QTRAP
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage a sales pipeline, understand complex service offerings, and maintain meticulous organization.
  • Customer-first mindset, problem-solving ability, and confidence handling multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and CRM systems.
  • Positive, outgoing attitude and the ability to build lasting client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Drive growth of our instrument service portfolio across CROs, pharmaceutical organizations, and large reference labs.
  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities that meet established sales targets.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand market share and build a sustainable pipeline.
  • Leverage your existing network to generate leads, build trust, and convert prospects into long-term clients.
  • Manage CRM activity using company SOPs — research prospects, track opportunities, record closed business, and maintain accurate notes.
  • Build a strong referral network via cold outreach, B2B strategies, conferences, and relationship-driven business development.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with current clients, partners, and internal teams through proactive, transparent communication.
  • Deliver persuasive presentations, sales pitches, product updates, and data-driven reports.
  • Attend team meetings and facilitate communication between customers and technical staff.
  • Work with internal teams to create accurate Statements of Work and ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Negotiate service agreements and maintain a high standard of customer satisfaction.
  • Travel to client sites and conferences as needed.
