About The Position

AE Works Ltd. is seeking a strategic and relationship-driven Business Development Lead to accelerate growth across Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania. This role is central to expanding our presence among forward-thinking clients in healthcare, higher education, commercial, and mission critical who are shaping the future of the built environment. Based in Pittsburgh, you will build and deepen client relationships, identify high-value opportunities, and help position AE Works as a trusted partner in delivering high-performance, sustainable, and human-centered buildings. This role is ideal for a professional who is motivated to grow relationships that lead to impactful building projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • 5–10 years of experience in business development or sales within the AEC/building industry, including exposure to public and/or private sector clients
  • Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining client relationships, including engagement with senior leadership and decision-makers
  • Experience contributing to qualifications packages, proposals, and interview presentations
  • Strong communication skills, including active listening, and clear oral and written presentation abilities
  • Proven organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Commitment to collaboration and active participation in AE Works’ culture and values

Responsibilities

  • Build and expand AE Works’ client network across Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania to drive targeted revenue growth
  • Develop and execute business development strategies in collaboration with Firm Leadership.
  • Contributes to annual sales planning, including goal setting and budgeting in alignment with AE Works strategic objectives
  • Generate and qualify new project leads through networking, industry events, market research, and relationship building
  • Partner with marketing and technical teams to develop compelling qualifications packages, proposals, and presentations
  • Represent AE Works at industry events, conferences, and client meetings, including pre- and post-event planning and follow-up
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, opportunities, and pipeline activity within AE Works’ CRM system
  • Prepare regular reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and key metrics
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support business development and firm growth initiatives
