About The Position

In this position, you will play a key role in expanding our presence in the oil & gas midstream market by identifying new prospects, initiating conversations, and qualifying opportunities. As the first point of contact for many potential customers, your professionalism and ability to build relationships will set the tone for an exceptional customer experience. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Prospect Identification: Research, identify, and source new potential customers within the oil & gas midstream sector. Outbound Outreach: Conduct outbound calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and other communication channels to generate interest. Inbound Lead Engagement: Respond promptly to inbound inquiries and nurture early-stage leads. Qualification: Hold discovery conversations to assess prospect needs, readiness, and fit for our midstream software solutions. Pipeline Development: Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of early-stage opportunities in CRM. Collaboration: Partner closely with the external sales team to hand off fully qualified prospects and ensure a smooth transition. Market Insight: Track industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer challenges to help shape messaging and targeting. Reporting: Provide regular updates on activity, pipeline metrics, and lead quality. Who You Are: You actively collaborate across sales, marketing, customer success, and operations to expand account footprint and accelerate revenue growth. You seek out and integrate diverse perspectives to identify upsell, cross-sell, and retention opportunities, turning insights into actionable strategies. You set aggressive, results-driven stretch goals that challenge individuals and teams to consistently outperform quota and pipeline targets. You anticipate risks to execution, proactively removing obstacles and building strong contingency plans to protect deal velocity, customer satisfaction, and forecast accuracy. For This Role, You Will Need: Associates Degree and 3+ years of demonstrated sales experience, direct or indirect sales Strong communication skills—clear, confident, and comfortable engaging with midstream professionals Ability to conduct research and independently source new prospects Proficiency with CRM systems and basic sales tools Highly self-directed, organized, and capable of managing follow-ups without supervision Willing to travel up to 25% Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: Bachelors Degree preferred 4+ years of experience in inside sales, SDR/BDR, business development, or a similar role (preferably in B2B software, energy, or industrial markets) Familiarity with oil & gas midstream operations, terminology, or software solutions Experience supporting an enterprise or technical sales cycle Prior success in a quota-carrying or metrics-driven sales development role Our Culture & Commitment to You: At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow. Requirements
