Business Development Intern Job Description: HITT Contracting is seeking a part-time intern to join our Business Development team in our Falls Church, VA, headquarters office from the end of May through early August. The business development intern is responsible for the understanding of individual sales and business development as part of the business team. Their focus is on developing relationships and creating their own network to research opportunities for new projects or clients. This position reports to and receives direction and coaching from the business development team leader. HITT Contracting is a top 10 national general contractor with a strong, 80-year history of success in the commercial construction market. Requirements

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively internally
  • Strong interpersonal and active listening skills
  • Must be able to work efficiently in a deadline-oriented environment while maintaining quality
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-starter with a can-do attitude who is resourceful, a critical thinker, and a problem-solver
  • Possesses a strong desire to learn and be challenged

Responsibilities

  • Sales This role will serve as the local team member responsible for cultivating new opportunities and relationships:
  • Business Development: Work with business development team leader to identify key investments that are designed to successfully achieve goals that align with the strategic vision of the company.
  • Industry involvement: Attend assigned industry events local to the DC market.
  • Administration: Assist in the business plan creation and understand how to track quarterly.
  • Data Management: Learn and understand the HITT CRM database alongside business development team leader and provides reports and forecasts as needed.
  • Business Development Planning Attend business development planning and contributes to development of the business unit:
  • Develop, implement, and measure key business development and brand exposure strategies alongside leadership.
  • Collaborate with corporate business developers to ensure consistent approach.
  • Execute well defined objectives while identifying market trends and opportunities to ensure HITT’s brand position in the community.
  • Assist in development of the business unit sales plan that aligns with the strategic vision, including annual goals, and individual KPI’s for the BD team and seller-doers.
