About The Position

Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: NBIX) is offering the opportunity to gain business development experience in the world of biotechnology. Our intern program offers exposure to competitive intelligence processes and corporate strategy activities. _

Requirements

• Third-year undergraduate student with major in the life sciences (e.g., Neuroscience, Biology, Molecular and Cell Biology)
• Interest in learning about the biopharmaceutical industry including technologies, product development, and regulatory approval processes
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to think creatively and be a team player
• Offer flexibility with a willingness to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Bring to the Company a skill set complementary to its technologies and therapeutics in development
• Interest in attending various program events, including social gatherings, career development workshops, and more
• Ability to commit to a 10-week, full-time summer program (in-person in San Diego, CA)

Nice To Haves

• Market research experience or experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry would be an asset but is not required

Responsibilities

• Monitoring industry trends, companies, technologies, and therapeutic areas of relevance to Neurocrine
• Supporting a range of activities, including product and technology assessment
• Interacting with multiple functional areas within the company such as research, clinical development, and finance
• Completing a special project and presenting the recommendations to senior management upon completion
