About The Position

DigiChem is a seed-stage startup building an on-demand chemical synthesis and manufacturing platform. We help companies accelerate their chemistry R&D and get to market faster by using AI to optimize synthesis routes and rapidly produce materials in our lab. Our customers are technical teams at at companies working in areas ranging from electronics manufacturing to bioengineering. We’re looking for a technically sharp, AI-native GTM hire to own the top of our sales funnel. This isn’t a traditional BDR role where you stare at a spreadsheet and dial down a list. You’ll build automated prospecting workflows in tools like Clay, use AI to research and personalize outreach at scale, and systematically identify the right people at the right companies. Then you'll get them on the phone and generate qualified leads for our CEO. You’ll be our first dedicated sales hire. That means you’ll have real influence over how we go to market, which accounts we target, and how we tell our story. We’re building an AI company and we expect our GTM motion to be just as technically leveraged as our product. Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in B2B outbound sales development, GTM engineering, or growth roles
  • Proficiency with Clay, Apollo, or similar prospecting automation platforms
  • Fluent with AI tools and actively using them in your daily work
  • Comfort with cold calling and a track record of generating qualified pipeline
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Self-starter mentality
  • Curiosity about the chemicals or materials industry (direct experience is a strong plus but not required)
  • Familiarity with modern CRM tools

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building workflows in Clay, Make, Zapier, or n8n for multi-step enrichment or lead scoring
  • Background in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related technical field
  • Experience selling into R&D, manufacturing, or process engineering teams
  • Comfort with basic scripting (Python, JavaScript) or working with APIs
  • Prior experience at an early-stage startup where you helped build the GTM playbook from scratch
  • Familiarity with the specialty chemicals value chain (raw materials, intermediates, functional additives, coatings, adhesives, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Build and iterate on automated prospecting workflows in Clay to identify, enrich, and score target accounts
  • Use AI tools to research accounts, personalize outreach, and generate insights about prospects at scale
  • Design and run multi-channel outbound sequences (cold calls, personalized emails, LinkedIn) with a focus on quality and relevance over volume
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads against our ideal customer profile and book discovery meetings for the CEO
  • Maintain a clean, well-structured pipeline in our CRM and build dashboards or automations to track what’s working
  • Continuously experiment with outreach messaging, channels, and targeting
  • Refine messaging and identify content opportunities based on prospect conversations
  • Attend industry events and trade shows as opportunities arise
