About The Position

The Associate Business Development Executive will drive new revenue through disciplined outbound activity, focused pipeline management, and structured deal execution. This role carries defined monthly revenue targets and is responsible for owning mid-sized revenue opportunities within established deal parameters, progressing qualified prospects efficiently from prospecting through close. The Associate Business Development Executive will be accountable for achieving those targets while maintaining disciplined execution standards. This role balances revenue generation with meaningful operational responsibility. The Associate Business Development Executive will not only sell, but will also support contract preparation, CRM maintenance, deal logistics, and internal coordination to ensure opportunities move efficiently and accurately through the sales process. We believe strong Business Development leaders are built through understanding both revenue generation and operational precision. This role is intentionally built as a bench for future Business Development Executives. The Associate Business Development Executive will be expected to master both revenue generation and the operational execution that supports it. Success requires consistency, follow-through, and comfort owning both the selling work and the structured responsibilities that keep deals moving.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a business development and/or sales focused role in the natural CPG industry at a brand, broker, or merchandiser.
  • Demonstrated experience with outbound prospecting, qualification calls, and pipeline management.
  • Experience supporting Business Development Executives or sales leaders on active deals, including contract execution support.
  • Operational experience managing deadlines, documentation, or cross-functional handoffs.
  • Prior experience using a CRM platform such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
  • Strong outbound drive and comfort initiating conversations with new prospects.
  • Ability to manage multiple active deals without sacrificing execution quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage prospects professionally, articulate value clearly, and document conversations accurately.
  • High level of accountability for follow-through, deadlines, and next steps.
  • Able to maintain organization and follow-through in an environment where systems and processes are continuing to evolve.
  • Understanding of and interest in the natural CPG industry, including familiarity with how brands grow within retail environments.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (HubSpot preferred; Salesforce or similar acceptable).
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) or Microsoft Office for sales materials and reporting.
  • Experience using shared document systems (e.g., Google Drive) to manage contracts and sales documentation.
  • Comfort navigating basic contract structures and pricing models within standard deal templates.
  • Willingness to travel up to 12 weeks per year to attend trade shows, client meetings, and other in-person events.
  • Capable of meeting the physical requirements of conducting field visits, with or without reasonable accommodation, including but not limited to walking and standing for up to 8 hours; frequent bending, squatting, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling; frequent lifting up to 25lbs and occasional lifting between 25 – 50lbs.
  • Able to work in a seated position for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new business through consistent outbound prospecting across email, phone, and LinkedIn, maintaining 20–30 touches per week.
  • Conduct qualification calls and progress opportunities through clear next steps while maintaining an active pipeline of approximately 10 deals at a time.
  • Identify, pursue, and close defined mid-sized revenue opportunities within established deal parameters.
  • Follow up on warm leads and internal expansion targets in partnership with Brand Experience and Business Development team members.
  • Prepare supporting materials for sales discussions and manage deal progression toward defined monthly revenue targets.
  • Qualify inbound website leads and manage appropriate routing or disqualification.
  • Maintain real-time CRM accuracy to ensure clean pipeline tracking and reliable revenue reporting.
  • Draft, update, and support pricing and contract development to ensure accurate financial terms and aligned scope details.
  • Process deal adjustments and confirm terms alignment, ensuring required cross-functional communication with Operations and Finance.
  • Support structured follow-up on outstanding accounts and maintain organized contract templates and shared documentation systems.
  • Shadow Business Development Executive calls weekly to deepen sales acumen and deal strategy understanding.
  • Participate in pricing discussions and contract structuring conversations to build fluency in deal mechanics.
  • Support case preparation for expanding services within existing client partnerships in collaboration with cross-functional leaders.
  • Build working knowledge of pricing models, channels of business, and category strategy through active participation in live opportunities.
  • Identify practical opportunities to improve deal speed, clarity, and handoffs across the Business Development team.
