Music Services is looking for a motivated Business Development Coordinator to generate new business and support our growth efforts in the publishing sector. This role focuses on researching and identifying publishers, publishing administrations, rights holders and connecting them with solutions and services, driving additional value through cross selling and upselling opportunities. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Business Administration, a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years professional business development experience in the digital music industry.
  • Foundational understanding of publishing rights, publishing agreements, and the digital rights landscape.
  • Proven track record of success in driving revenue growth and establishing strategic partnerships.
  • Expertise in generating leads, pipeline management, and closing deals.
  • Deep understanding of music publishing rights and administration, copyright law, royalty structures, and the digital rights landscape.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Track record of exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to effectively prioritize work to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ethical conduct and an ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Self-starter with an ability to work independently or as a team.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to interact professionally in client-facing situations.
  • Willingness to learn and develop in a dynamic and growing company.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a positive, solutions-oriented attitude and a willingness to support others to achieve shared goals.

Responsibilities

  • Research inbound leads and referrals, successfully converting them into active clients by meeting monthly and quarterly goals and productivity standards for new lead creation, outreach to prospective clients, and account signings.
  • Assist in developing a new deals pipeline by building relationships through outreach, referrals, and industry networking.
  • Identify and leverage opportunities to introduce prospective and existing clients to additional services and products within the Music Services Division.
  • Create and manage proposal decks and provide platform demos for potential and existing clients.
  • Identify and provide appropriate contracts and agreements for new clients and manage the deal process through signing, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that align with company objectives.
  • Manage CRM to track leads, proactively manage activity, and update deal terms by maintaining clean, accurate data entry and reporting.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing feedback, suggesting process enhancements, and collaborating with the broader Music Services team.
  • Special projects as assigned.
