The Business Development Analyst (BDA) provides Key Accounts (KA) new business sales support for Account Executives (AEs) handling opportunities in the 100-5,000 eligible segment. They coordinate and execute the new business presale process for both medical and specialty proposal requests and complete post-sale activities for accurate case tracking and implementation. BDAs act as the point of contact between brokers and underwriting. They establish and cultivate strategic business relationships with key sales and market influencers, potential new customers, and related community institutions. They work closely with sales and marketing groups to translate business development strategies into specific initiatives, additional market research projects, and selling activities. This position reports to local market leadership including Sales Operations Management and Directors/Vice Presidents of Sales & Account Management in the Key Accounts Line of Business. Employees are required to be in the office one day a week and to work our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 1 Tower Center Blvd, East Brunswick, New Jersey. This position is full-time. This position follows a hybrid schedule with one in-office day per week. Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 6+ months of customer service or administrative support experience in a fast‑paced, professional environment
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and other virtual productivity tools
  • Willing and able to work out of the East Brunswick, NJ office 1 day per week

Responsibilities

  • The KA Business Development Analyst is accountable for new business sales support for AE’s, handling opportunities for standard/non-standard opportunities up to 5,000 eligible employees.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with brokers/consultants through direct and indirect communication
  • Review Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to ensure all required information and documentation has been received for all products requested
  • Obtain missing presale information and documents from AEs and external brokers required to complete RFPs
  • Submit and manage non-standard administration requests when identified in presale process
  • Modify non-standard benefit summaries when required in presale process
  • Enter sales opportunities in the sales system. Update the system for accurate tracking during the presale process and upon final disposition i.e., Sold, Lost
  • Submit quote requests to rating and underwriting partners. Request and coordinate alternate quotes
  • Quality review proposal and financial documents prior to external release to brokers/consultants
  • Communicate necessary information to implementation management to ensure they have appropriate information for timely and accurate case installation
