About The Position

The Emergency Medical Services ( EMS ) profession is changing and information is essential to good decision making. Be a catalyst for an Information‐Driven Future! Join the National Emergency Medical Services Information Systems ( NEMSIS ) team and help to transform information into evidence supported action. The NEMSIS Business Data Analyst position will play a key role in the development and promotion of the use of EMS data to facilitate enhanced prehospital emergency care services. The NEMSIS program is responsible for the collection, cleaning, storing and sharing of nationwide EMS data. By joining the NEMSIS Technical Assistance Center, you assist local, state and national stakeholders in utilizing that information to improve emergency medical services. This position focuses on effectively communicating and promoting the use of EMS data to expert and lay audiences. It will require strong communication skills and the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism with local, state and federal stakeholders. Essential Functions Provide support to and collaborate with EMS data partners in local, state, and national levels. Build professional relationships with stakeholders and advocate on their behalf. Develop tools and reports that visualize EMS data to expert and lay audiences. Educate stakeholders on available resources. Assist in development and facilitation of trainings and presentations. Facilitate project management and tracking deliverables. Actively participate in process improvement, team building and professional development. Comments Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager Work Environment and Level of Frequency typically required Nearly Continuously: Office environment. Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking. Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking. Minimum Qualifications Requires a bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Two to four years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
