The Business Coordinator III, under general supervision, provides support and coordination of a variety of business activities requiring independent judgment, including reviewing business documents, and assisting in the development, monitoring, and reporting for accounts and budget data with limited supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four (4) years of related business/accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • Discretion with sensitive information.
  • Ability to be helpful, respectful, approachable, and team oriented.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Business and Compliance Support Responsible for processing all account payables for Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Extension, COALS, and Professional Service units.
  • Maintain electronic account files for verification, vouchers, and miscellaneous reports.
  • Reviews, allocates, and manages purchasing processes while analyzing account activity.
  • Enters, reviews, and approves complex travel expense reports.
  • Reviews/approves commodity codes to requisition and invoices.
  • Reviews documents for accuracy, proper coding, compliance, and approval as directed.
  • Assist with complex reports.
  • Reviews financial transactions for compliance.
  • Customer service support lead for Professional Service Units.
  • Processes Telecom Work Orders and Invoices.
  • Maintain all property updates and conduct annual certification for the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Administrative offices as well as Administrative Services.
  • Leadership Responsible for communicating policies and procedures to assigned unit/department(s).
  • Research policies, practices, and atypical transactions and makes recommendations as needed.
  • Manages problem-solving for budgeting, tracking, and payment issues of financial services.
  • Supervises Student Worker(s).
  • Training/Support Assists student workers and other Unit Business Services (UBS) coordinators in escalating complex items or concerns.
  • May mentor or train other staff members.
  • Unit Support Serves as key contact with assigned departments to ensure relevant and timely response to customers’ finance and business needs.
  • Assists in communicating with departments to resolve day-to-day processing challenges/issues that may arise.
  • Advises customers on purchasing guidelines, contract process, and status of accounts.
  • Maintains a strong working knowledge of AgriLife and TAMU Purchasing and Travel Guidelines to ensure transaction compliance.
  • Reviews monthly account reconciliations and analyzes transactions to identify and resolve any errors.
  • Provides courteous, efficient, and timely customer service to the units assigned.
  • Serves as back-up to other UBS Coordinators.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
