Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement plans to monitor execution, align with strategic goals, and prioritize projects to maximize resource efficiency.
  • Establish a portfolio management process for project visibility and funding alignment, overseeing interdependencies for timely delivery and effective roadmap development.
  • Translate strategic initiatives into actionable plans, create materials to communicate key information to leadership, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, identify and resolve gaps or conflicts, and promote proactive solutions.
  • Collaborate with actuarial leaders to report project status and incorporate stakeholder feedback, ensuring effective communication among leadership and sponsors.
  • Evaluate vendor deliverables, liaise between project teams and external partners, and manage resource commitments across the organization, recommending prioritization and reallocation.
  • Foster accountability for project communications and reporting, mentor team members, and implement consistent program/project management methodologies across business units.
  • Partner with senior leaders to transform their businesses through the strategic application of people, processes and technology.
  • Demonstrate expertise in leading business process analysis/design, organizational analysis, needs assessments and cost/benefit analysis.
  • Serve as process management contributor and consultant between business customers and systems area for development and implementation of business processes and procedures.
  • Identify critical elements of a business process that need to be managed and define criteria of performance success.
  • Conduct and lead training of customers on business, technological, societal and environmental trends.
  • Facilitate evaluation and research of new and existing products, procedures and/or workflow needs associated with business systems.
  • Develop compelling business cases, including gaining senior management input, to accomplish business objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in program management.
  • Financial services experience required, with insurance experience preferred.
  • Project Management Certification strongly preferred; industry designations such as CPCU are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage large, complex programs and integrate multiple projects.
  • Effective interpersonal skills for engaging with senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Capacity to influence change and drive initiatives.

Nice-to-haves

  • Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information, business, mathematics or related field desired.
  • Graduate studies are preferred.
  • Eight plus years of dynamic experience in planning, designing and implementing company-wide business transformation initiatives.
  • Extensive experience in functional, process, information and data modeling, data management and warehousing and applications integration.
  • In-depth experience with process redesign methods and tools.
  • Three years of experience in project management is preferred.
