The Business Consultant - Consumer is responsible for developing a sales territory, specifically Northern Maryland and Baltimore, to achieve and surpass profitability goals, annual sales budgets, and market penetration targets across various product lines and volumes. This role requires a consultative sales approach, focusing on building strong relationships and providing effective solutions to business challenges. Key responsibilities include identifying customer needs for new products and services, introducing new offerings to existing accounts, and actively generating new profitable business through both inbound and outbound calls. The consultant will manage order processing, maintain accurate daily records, and ensure timely follow-up. Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of company products and delivering exceptional customer service are paramount. The position involves keeping customers informed about pricing, promotions, and marketing updates, as well as meticulously managing customer contact details and promotional activities. The consultant will regularly drive to customer locations to sell products and services, foster relationships, and resolve issues, while also cultivating rapport for future growth opportunities. The ability to respond quickly and knowledgeably under pressure is essential. Furthermore, the role requires developing and maintaining a deep understanding of market dynamics, including customers, competitors, partners, business models, market sizing, and industry trends. Data analysis will be conducted for key accounts and prospects to track purchases against goals, and sales technology/CRM will be utilized to monitor activity and market changes.
