About The Position

The Business Banking Loan Processor I or II is responsible for performing a variety of loan processing duties on approved loan application packages to ensure satisfaction of conditions of loan approval and compliance with Bank policies and procedures. Works directly with Underwriters, Branch personnel, Business Relationship Managers and Customers from loan approval through loan closing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required, undergraduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of loan processing experience.
  • Recent experience in loan processing and/or commercial loan documentation.
  • Commercial loan processing preferred.
  • Good organizational and prioritization skills to accommodate heavy volumes.
  • Comprehension of Bank policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively, collaborate and problem-solves with staff.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
  • Knowledge of AS400 a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Three or more years of commercial and/or SBA loan processing experience required.
  • Proven ability to handle a larger portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional customer service to loan officers, branch personnel and customers.
  • After credit approval, compiles all necessary information and documents required as a condition of loan approval and according to loan product/program.
  • Works to establish reasonable Customer expectation for loan document signing and loan closing.
  • Analyze applicant information/documentation to ensure acceptable to bank guidelines.
  • Manages an assigned pipeline of approved loan applications while meeting department turnaround times and service commitments.
  • Regularly communicate loan status with loan officers, branch personnel and customers.
  • Consistently updates Loan Log with loan status and documents received from customers and others.
  • Orders appraisals, preliminary title reports and environmental reports as needed.
  • Reviews preliminary title policies for accuracy and requests endorsements and lien releases as needed to perfect bank’s lien position as approved.
  • Reviews all documents for accuracy and obtains Underwriting approval for any changes.
  • Prepares complete files using the appropriate Checklist.
  • Submits complete files for Loan Documentation.
  • Follows loan through documentation and closing to ensure on time delivery and superior customer service.
  • Maintains a current knowledge of bank products and services.
  • Answers phone inquiries from customers and branches.
  • Maintains a current understanding of Bank policies and procedures in compliance with all federal and state laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (SARs, CIP, OFAC), Information Security (GLBA), Identity Theft Red Flags, Financial Elder Abuse Reporting, and any other applicable regulations that may be specific to your job duties.
  • Provides coverage as appropriate for co-workers in their absence.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
