About The Position

This position supports the work of YMCA of the Rockies, which operates mission-driven family and group conference and retreat centers serving more than 225,000 guests annually. The Business and Financial Analyst is responsible for optimizing financial business processes, managing and analyzing financial data and KPIs, and supporting the finance team’s strategic initiatives. The Analyst will also assist in the management of technology projects to support Finance and Accounting processes across the organization. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in financial analysis, accounts receivable management, and process optimization.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with accounting and financial management software.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize financial business processes and support continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team.
  • Manage and monitor the Association’s Accounts Receivable reconciliation and reporting.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure accurate billing and payment processing.
  • Analyze financial data, develop and maintain dashboards, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to occupancy, forecasting, and financial health.
  • Assist in managing technology projects related to accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as needed.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and other departments to ensure alignment of financial goals and data accuracy.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and professionalism within the finance function.
  • Maintain, analyze, and improve monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, and performance dashboards for senior leadership and program managers.
  • Build and maintain financial models for revenue forecasting, capital projects, program cost analysis, and scenario planning.
  • Design, build, and maintain visual dashboards (Power BI / Tableau / Excel) to track KPIs such as occupancy, program margin, revenue per bed, and donor restricted funds.
  • Conduct cost analyses and process improvement projects to increase operational efficiency and program sustainability.
  • Partner with operations, programming, and development teams to translate business questions into analytics and actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses and decision-ready presentations for the CFO and executive team.
  • Assist with month-end close tasks and audit preparation as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Provide backup support for the Accounting team as needed and participate in cross-training to understand other accounting functions.
