Requirements

  • Must be currently pursuing a bachelors degree, and returning to school following the internship term.
  • Actively pursuing a degree or one closely related in Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering or similar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient skills in microsoft and google software suites, with experience managing EHS enterprise software systems.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional extended shifts or weekends, to support production needs.
  • Ability to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Ability to occasionally walk, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to travel, drive a motor vehicle (up to 10% of the time).
  • Ability to frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the promotion of EHS values across the workplace by participating in safety initiatives and learning the fundamentals of a management system mindset.
  • Assist in the alignment of safety standards within the Rivian Production System through data entry, documentation, and floor observations.
  • Help monitor and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure they are functioning as intended.
  • Assist with the preparation of documentation and reports required for regulatory agencies (OSHA, IEPA, etc.) under the guidance of EHS leadership.
  • Help gather and organize EHS data to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and progress toward manufacturing goals.
  • Assist in the development and scheduling of EHS training materials and sessions for manufacturing team members.
  • Conduct research on OSHA, EPA, and local health regulations to ensure site protocols remain up to date.
  • Participate in routine inspections of property and equipment to identify potential EHS risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with the local EHS team to help implement standardized programs and support manufacturing-specific safety projects.
  • Build positive relationships with cross-functional teams to encourage safety compliance and goal achievement.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional extended shifts or weekends, to support production needs.
  • Perform other duties and administrative tasks as assigned to support the EHS department.
