About The Position

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. All employees who apply for a posted position must notify their supervisors that they have applied. The Support group Transmission & Substation Services organization is responsible for condition-based transmission tariff capital projects and substation capital programs. Individuals in this position would track projects through the PLMP life cycle, create reports on project metrics, coordinate projects with other sponsor groups, and develop capital portfolio rounds presentations. This position can be located anywhere in the FE territory, with a preference of Akron, Oh, Greensburg, PA, Reading, PA, or Fairmont, WV.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline with 7 (seven) years of related work experience. In lieu of degree, 10 (ten) years of related work experience is required.
  • Related experiences may include utility experience, transmission, distribution, engineering support, data analytics, developing and presenting projects for approval.
  • Working knowledge of applicable computer software necessary to fulfill job duties including but not limited to Microsoft Office, knowledge of FileNet, SAP, and Cascade is preferred.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong analytical ability.
  • Must possess a safety core value mindset and maintain a safe work environment for co-workers and the public.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/schedules simultaneously and be able to work effectively under the pressure of deadlines, unexpected developments, changes in project scope and demands for work assignments outside of normal duties.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Must possess strong organizational, computer and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineers on capital project sponsorship.
  • Create reports/metrics on projects sponsored by the group.
  • Develop capital portfolio rounds meeting presentations.
  • Program management for substation capital programs.
  • Support activities/reporting related to joint owned substation facilities.
  • Assist with greenhouse gas reporting to the EPA.
  • Coordination and facilitation of various activities the group is responsible for.
  • Supporting the emergency plan through participation in assigned storm duties.
  • Maintaining a safe workplace for coworkers and the community based upon a developing knowledge of potential hazards, industry regulations/requirements and company practices.
