About The Position

The SAP S/4HANA Business Analyst serves as the primary link between business operations and technical execution. The purpose of this role is to lead the transformation of business requirements into scalable technical solutions, ensuring that the S/4HANA implementation drives operational efficiency and adheres to industry best practices. By championing a "Fit-to-Standard" approach, this individual ensures the system architecture supports long-term business goals while minimizing technical debt and project risk. This role will be located at the Copper World Project, approximately 45 minutes southwest of Tucson near Sahuarita, Arizona.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of Business Analyst experience, including at least one full-lifecycle SAP implementation.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in SAP modules (FI/CO, MM, or SD) and familiarity with SAP Fiori.
  • Methodology: Proven experience working within Agile or Waterfall frameworks using tools like Jira or MS Project.
  • Soft Skills: Demonstrated analytical thinking and the ability to explain technical complexities to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • S/4HANA Specifics: Hands-on experience with SAP Activate Methodology and a direct S/4HANA implementation (rather than just legacy ECC).
  • Certifications: SAP Certified Application Associate (S/4HANA).
  • PMI-PBA or PMP certification.
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
  • Advanced Influence: Strong negotiation skills, specifically in the context of managing expectations between business units and IT.

Responsibilities

  • Process Optimization: Championing a "Process-First" and "Fit-to-Standard" approach to minimize costly system customizations.
  • Gap Analysis: Identifying where business needs diverge from standard SAP capabilities and recommending functional solutions.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Acting as the primary translator between department heads (Finance, Supply Chain, etc.) and the technical implementation partners.
  • Project Stewardship: Managing workstream deliverables, identifying risks/bottlenecks, and ensuring milestones are hit.
  • Quality Assurance: Leading the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process, including script development and system readiness validation.
