About The Position

The Business Analyst is a critical operational and analytical partner responsible for optimizing warehouse performance, improving processes, and supporting all WMS-related activities across the distribution center. While experience with any enterprise WMS is required, the successful candidate will be trained on Blue Yonder WMS and will become the on-site functional SME for system usage, troubleshooting, and process optimization. This role combines strong analytical skills, operational understanding, and functional WMS knowledge to support daily execution, enhance system performance, and deliver insights that improve productivity, accuracy, and cost efficiency. The analyst will also lead labour planning/forecasting, conduct investigative P&L analysis, and develop high-quality reporting packages for leadership.

Requirements

  • Experience with any enterprise Warehouse Management System (e.g., Blue Yonder, Manhattan, HighJump/Körber, Synapse, SAP EWM, etc.).
  • Strong troubleshooting and issue-resolution skills in a WMS environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, modeling) and PowerPoint (executive-level presentations).
  • Experience with labour forecasting, productivity analysis, and operational capacity planning.
  • Ability to perform investigative P&L and operational financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary functional SME for WMS usage and best practices (Blue Yonder training provided).
  • Provide first-line support for WMS issues: troubleshoot operational/system problems, validate defects, and raise/track tickets with IT.
  • Support system configuration updates, enhancement requests, and all testing cycles (SIT, UAT, regression).
  • Partner with operations to ensure optimal use of WMS capabilities (e.g., receiving, picking, replenishment, inventory control, tasking).
  • Lead labor planning and forecasting using demand projections, volume trends, and operational capacity.
  • Track and analyze operational KPIs such as productivity, throughput, SLA compliance, and accuracy.
  • Develop Power BI dashboards, exception reporting, and insights to support daily and weekly business reviews.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis on operational variances or system exceptions.
  • Perform operational and financial investigative analysis to understand P&L impacts, cost drivers, labour variances, and throughput trends.
  • Quantify the impact of operational issues, system defects, or process changes on cost and service.
  • Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce errors across core warehouse processes.
  • Support continuous improvement projects related to productivity, inventory accuracy, slotting, picking strategy, and system utilization.
  • Document and maintain SOPs related to WMS processes and system interactions.
  • Promote analytical thinking, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making across the operation.
  • Produce high-quality performance dashboards, scorecards, and RCA documentation.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of all operational reporting packages.
  • Track corrective actions, improvement initiatives, and recurring system issues.
  • Support system transitions, enhancements, UAT, go-live activities, and stabilization phases.
  • Work closely with IT, operations leaders, and client teams to align on requirements and priorities.
  • Provide guidance on WMS capabilities, operational best practices, and data insights.
  • Stay current on WMS industry trends, supply chain innovations, and process optimization methods.
  • Provides day to day WMS support for our user community.
  • Understands how to leverage the knowledge of our team to expedite your WMS knowledge and expertise.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, work with and liaise between customer team members (users, management, IT), internal team members and other contractors.
  • Researches, creates operational process maps, captures data, and creates documentation to develop a thorough understanding of requirements. Utilizes this information to create best practice solutions.
  • Delivers tasks and assignments with high quality, within the agreed upon budgetary and time constraints in accordance to agreed expectations.
  • Work on-site and remotely during project stages, system installation, user acceptance testing, go live support, modifications, and maintenance.
  • Transform customer’s functional designs/specifications into system designs, develops the solution, performs unit testing and debugging, implements and supports the final solution.
  • Work closely with clients, project leaders and internal team members on customer requirements and development. Translate functional requirements into solutions by means of application configuration and/or software development
  • Ensure your time is accurately captured and reported in Ace to enable accurate invoicing for your services.
  • Take personal ownership in learning and enhancing your knowledge of the system capabilities and offerings.
  • 80% your day to day assignments and tasks will be functional and 20% will be technical
  • Carries out any other related task assigned by your direct Manager.
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule including evenings, nights and weekends when required.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task.
