About The Position

We are looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Business Analyst Intern to join the Growth Product Marketing team. This person brings curiosity about the business, uses data to drive evidence-based decisions, and values the context in which insights are applied. In this role, you’ll generate insights on product performance, customer segments, and go-to-market efforts — including targeted prospecting, historical analysis, and performance tracking — to ensure our initiatives are aligned with market needs and business goals. The Growth Product Marketing team directly impacts Okta's pipeline and revenue, and you will have the opportunity to measure your direct contributions during your time here. Okta is committed to providing a holistic intern experience, including fostering an in-person community for our interns in Chicago. While Growth Product Marketing is a global team, this specific role will also benefit from in-person mentorship from local teammates.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (Dec. 2026 or May/June 2027 graduate) with a background in Marketing, Finance, Business Analytics, Management Science, Cognitive Science, Psychology, or a related field
  • Experienced in merging data from disparate sources across technology platforms
  • Exposure to data visualization and analysis tools such as Tableau, Looker, Excel, and Google Sheets to create pivot tables, perform lookups, conduct data cleaning and deliver insights
  • Brings strong critical thinking skills and curiosity to understand evolving company priorities and market needs
  • Identifies appropriate business outcomes and connects them to go-to-market initiatives
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, is highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Collaborates effectively with diverse cross-functional teams and helps to manage various projects; including action item tracking, delivering project status updates, and stakeholder communications
  • Navigates ambiguity and makes thoughtful recommendations by identifying key assumptions and leveraging available information
  • Passion for technology and interest in the intersection of marketing and product development. A big plus for those with Okta and/or Auth0 product familiarity

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internships in Sales Operations, Business Operations, Marketing, or Product Marketing
  • Experience using CRM reporting tools
  • Exposure to market sizing initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Develop Insightful Reports: Analyze historical data across sales funnels, marketing activities, product usage, customer feedback, and/or market trends. Deliver quantitative and qualitative insights that shape product positioning, pricing strategy, and new market opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product marketing, sales, sales enablement, marketing, and product management to gather data, align on business goals, and ensure insights are effectively integrated into strategic initiatives.
  • Market Opportunity Sizing: Estimate the addressable market for proposed initiatives and evaluate them based on potential business impact.
  • Curate Targeted Outreach Lists: Use internal and external data sources to build high-value prospect lists that support go-to-market execution.
  • Performance Measurement: Leverage data visualization and CRM reporting tools (e.g. Tableau, Salesforce) to track KPIs across product performance, outbound sales programs, and marketing activities. Present actionable insights to leadership to inform strategy and improvement opportunities
