The Nuclear Fuel Procurement team manages the procurement, contract administration, and financial analysis of nuclear fuel materials (uranium, conversion, enrichment, and fabrication services) for NextEra Energy's nuclear fleet. This role plays a critical role in optimizing fuel supply chain costs, managing supplier relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making for fuel procurement activities across FPL and NEER operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, contract management expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions to ensure reliable and cost-effective fuel supply. Manage the complete lifecycle of nuclear fuel supply contracts for uranium, conversion, enrichment, and fabrication services Develop financial models and conduct analyses to support procurement strategies and optimize fuel supply chain costs Prepare executive-level presentations and reports for monthly and quarterly management reviews Lead budget planning and forecasting activities for nuclear fuel procurement across FPL and NEER operations Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and support internal and external audit processes Build and maintain strategic relationships with nuclear fuel suppliers and industry stakeholders Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Legal, Nuclear Business Operations, Business Management, and Finance to execute procurement activities

Requirements

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 3+ years

Nice To Haves

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience creating executive-level PowerPoint presentations
  • Understanding of accounting principles for accrual management and financial reporting
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of nuclear fuel cycle and enrichment processes
  • Experience with SOX compliance and audit procedures
  • Familiarity with energy markets and commodity price forecasting
  • Bachelor's Degree

Responsibilities

  • Conducts analyses and prepares reports that provide operational and/or technical support to business operations
  • Conducts quantitative and qualitative research to support medium to large special projects
  • Assists with process design and modification for continuous business improvement
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
