About The Position

The Business Analyst – Data Center Market & Strategy at Hyper Solutions serves as a central market and strategy resource for Hyper Solutions’ data center business. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role delivers deep market intelligence, customer and competitor insights, and forward-looking analysis to support executive decision-making, product strategy, go-to-market planning, and corporate development initiatives. This position translates complex market, technical, and financial data into actionable insights that shape Hyper’s product roadmap, growth strategy, and long-term investment priorities across power and cooling infrastructure for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data center customers.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of experience in business analysis, strategy consulting, market intelligence, investment banking, or related roles within infrastructure, energy, industrial technology, or data center markets.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling, including scenario analysis and pivot-based reporting.
  • Experience developing executive dashboards and visual analytics using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure fundamentals, including power density, cooling architectures, PUE/WUE, and redundancy models (N, N+1, 2N).
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing public company filings, investor materials, and third-party industry research.
  • Proven ability to distill complex technical and financial information into concise, executive-level insights.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Prior exposure to AI infrastructure and high-performance computing environments.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and reporting frameworks such as Science Based Targets, CDP, or RE100.
  • Experience supporting M&A due diligence, corporate development initiatives, or venture investment activity.

Responsibilities

  • Track and analyze macro and micro trends across the data center infrastructure market, including AI workloads, power density growth, cooling technology adoption, edge computing, hyperscale capex cycles, siting and permitting activity, and regulatory developments.
  • Quantify and maintain market sizing models, including total and serviceable addressable markets by power density, cooling approach, geography, and customer segment.
  • Identify leading indicators of demand such as GPU cluster deployments, silicon roadmaps, and data center development pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain detailed profiles for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise customers, including build plans, power density targets, sustainability goals, vendor positioning, and technology adoption trends.
  • Analyze customer decision drivers and operational challenges, including cost per kW, cooling efficiency, deployment timelines, supply chain risk, and carbon accounting requirements.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking of data center power and cooling solutions, including product performance, density support, reliability, and commercial models.
  • Track competitor strategies, partnerships, standards participation, and intellectual property activity.
  • Synthesize market, customer, and competitive findings into executive-ready deliverables, including quarterly market briefs, competitive battle cards, win/loss analyses, and scenario-based forecasts.
  • Maintain strategic dashboards and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) tracking market growth, customer investment activity, competitive positioning, and share-of-wallet indicators.
  • Benchmark competitor financial and operating performance, including growth trends, margin performance, valuation metrics, and market positioning.
  • Support executive leadership and board materials with data-driven insights on market shifts, technology disruption risks, and growth opportunities.
  • Support corporate development activities by screening and prioritizing potential acquisition targets and monitoring M&A, venture funding, and partnership activity within the data center ecosystem.
  • Partner with Product Management to validate feature prioritization against customer demand and competitive gaps.
  • Advise Sales and Marketing on vertical strategies, messaging, and account-based targeting.
  • Support Engineering and R&D teams with voice-of-market insights on emerging workloads and infrastructure requirements (e.g., high-density and AI-driven environments).
