About The Position

The Business Analyst reports to a Sr. Software Engineering Manager and performs Quality Assurance and analysis of software applications and systems in support of business and IT objectives. Location: The successful candidate will work in a hybrid capacity between our Home Office in Enumclaw, WA, and remotely. Candidate must live within driving distance of our Home Office and have high-speed internet (internet speed test required). Hiring Range: $79,013 - $91,463 Salary Range: $79,013 - $104,590 The hiring range represents Mutual of Enumclaw’s current hiring pay scale for this role. Mutual of Enumclaw reserves the right to modify or update this range any time. Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience. Requirements

  • Ability to develop high-level systems and functional specifications.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of quality control standards and apply standards in all aspects of testing, research, and throughout the software development life cycle.
  • Ability to be effective in both remote and corporate settings.
  • Strong understanding of claims and/or billing operations, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Working knowledge and demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to and engage large groups of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and facilitate workflow diagrams to support process documentation and solution design.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with project management concepts.
  • 5+ years of experience with business and systems analysis, testing, or related work.
  • 5+ years of experience with requirements gathering, workflow documentation, and project planning.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, including video conferencing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Test Automation is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with applications and services provided in AWS or other cloud providers is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Exemplify behaviors that support our IT vision and beliefs.
  • Perform Quality Assurance activities in support of the software development process, and act as a champion for quality.
  • Build and leverage domain expertise in solving complex business problems.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to identify technology solutions for business problems.
  • Collaborate with the Agile team to develop, refine, and implement user needs.
  • Inspect and refine the team’s processes in collaboration with the team and Product Owners.
  • Collaborate to define/refine the “done” criteria for user stories along with the Product Owner and the Agile team and execute test cases to ensure their completion.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies to remove blockers, refine stories, plan Sprints, and review functionality with our business stakeholders.
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of our testing practices and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Provide production support for applications/services to internal and external customers.
  • Provide demos of work in front of large groups of stakeholders and team members.
  • Role may include opportunities for specialized and/or temporary assignments.
  • May be called on to work outside normal business hours.
  • May provide informal leadership and facilitation within the assigned team.
