About The Position

J. J. Keller is seeking a Business Analyst with a finance or accounting background who is passionate about process improvement and enjoys working at the intersection of business and technology. This role is highly focused on SAP testing for bug fixes and system enhancements. The Business Analyst will partner closely with Finance, Accounting, and Technology teams to analyze current processes, identify inefficiencies, and help design, test, and implement improved solutions. The ideal candidate enjoys working with financial data, understands how transactions flow through SAP and into financial statements, and brings a continuous improvement mindset focused on driving operational excellence. This position can be hired as either a Business Analyst I or Business Analyst II.

Requirements

2+ years of experience working with Accounting or Finance systems.
Process or systems analysis experience required.
Experience with system testing, bug fixes, or enhancements.
Hands-on experience with SAP strongly preferred, particularly within: Billing Accounts Receivable Accounts Payable General Ledger Fixed Assets
5+ years of experience working with Accounting or Finance systems.
2+ years of business analyst / systems analyst experience required.
Project leadership experience required.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Strong passion for process improvement and continuous improvement mindset.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in finance-related processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document complex processes clearly.
Ability to understand how system changes impact financial data and reporting.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Strong technical aptitude with a desire to understand system functionality end to end.

Nice To Haves

Project leadership experience a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field strongly preferred.
Lean, CBAP or PMP certifications are a plus.
System implementation and configuration experience a plus.
Experience with report writing/query tools such as SQL, Crystal, Business Objects, etc.

Responsibilities

Identifies, analyzes, and facilitates the implementation of new and enhanced technology to support the Accounting business unit.
Work to define business needs, project requirements, system specifications, and deliverables.
Coordinates activities and maintains ongoing communication with management, technology team, end users, and other stakeholders.
Coordinates decisions based on business requirements, system functionality, and best business practices.
Participates in system configuration, data conversion, and testing processes.
Troubleshoots system errors and performance problems so that business needs are met on a timely basis.
Provides 2nd level support for help desk calls.
Analyzes trends and develops recommendations to resolve recurring issues.
Prepares and updates documentation to include functional specifications, testing procedures, end user documentation, technical standard operating procedures (SOP), etc.
May create and maintain reports and analytics to support the business unit.
May prepare and conduct end-user training.
Facilitates timely and thorough system testing for new system implementations and system updates/upgrades.
Determines appropriate system security profiles in accordance with data security policies and practices.
Audits security access on a regular basis and resolves issues.
Actively participates in business process improvement activities to include leading and participating in process improvement events (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.).
Leads project management and change management activities for medium to large scope projects, either independently or in partnership with other project leaders.
Provides coaching, mentoring and training to other Business Analysts.
